The BEST Butterscotch Cake

This butterscotch cake is ultra rich and so soft and moist. The easy butterscotch frosting is the perfect finishing touch.

INGREDIENTS - GF flour - Baking powder - Baking soda - Salt - Butter - Brown sugar - Sugar - Greek yogurt - Vanilla extract - Buttermilk  - Powdered sugar - Heavy cream

STEP 1: Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together

STEP 2: Cream the butter with both sugars until smooth.

STEP 3: Add the yogurt and vanilla extract and beat to incorporate.

STEP 4: Add the dry ingredients in two parts, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix on low speed until just combined. 

STEP 5: Bake for 28-30 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.

STEP 6: To make the frosting, melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in the brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt and bring to a boil. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Remove from the heat and  cool. Add the powdered sugar and heavy cream.
